Seems this is a big issue with the Edge 130 and one Garmin are not reacting too. I have just had a conversation with support and apparantley i am the first to report this issue? However reading this post…
Maybe it are the BT sensors that are dropped?
I use ANT+ HR and Speed sensor (Decathlon and Magene) and no dropouts.
BT connection with my phone drops out, but I'm not using segments or tracking, so that…
Stefano, you write about short battery life.
Garmin screwed us up. The battery is too small.
Someone here has opened his 130 and noted this.
They have a smaller battery built in than what would actually fit…
Its not ideal but switching off Bluetooth stops mine losing the Ant+ sensors (HR and Power)
The Duotrap does BT and Ant+.
Maybe the 130 gets confused, receiving both signals ?
I've seen a topic about that, not sure it was with the 130 or another Edge.
I have the same issue. I'm using the Edge 130 with the HRM Run, Speed Sensor 2 and Cadence Sensor 2. All of them get dropped at once. It happens like 3-4 times while doing a 25km ride. The data is lost for that period of time. After 15-60 sec. the connection of all sensors is established again. VERY annoying!
Yes during the ride. I disconnected everything, changed to fresh batteries, reconnect them and it happens less now. But it is still happening.
First chance I get, I'm switching to wahoo.
I was thinking the 530, but my ride mate got it and 6 months in, it started to switch off mid-ride, he took it to Garmin, they reset it and gave it back, it kept switching off, took it back for a second time and they replaced the unit....
For me it looks like this issue has been fixed with software release 3.70.0.0. It didn't occur during the 3 cyclings after receiving the automatic update a few days ago. But Garmin did not mention it in the release notes here in the forum - https://forums.garmin.com/sports-fitness/cycling/f/edge-130/229928/new-edge-130-version-3-70-now-available.
