i can't add new routes with my Garmin 130 plus.

I bought it last year and i have been able to add new routes using Strava and Garmin Connect. I have been trying to add new routes but so far i cannot. i've tried erasing some routes and tried adding new routes but i still can't despite the device indicating that the download is complete. Can't figure it out.

You could have too many routes already saved, and/or too many previous rides saved eating up memory. It's tedious to delete activities (rides) via the unit, connect to laptop and go into the file structure and delete older activities to free up memory.

As Cranky K said, connect the device to a PC via USB cable, and it will show up as a removable drive. That will allow you to free up some space by deleting old Activities and Courses (respectively, under GARMIN\Activity and GARMIN\Courses).

If that doesn't work, try putting the new courses (.crs, .fit, .gpx, .tcx) into the GARMIN\NewFiles folder, then turn on the device and see if they show up under Courses.

Lastly, if nothing works, trying a factory reset as explained here.
