Smart Fueling Alerts Now Enabled As Default

The latest update for the Edge 1050 now has Smart Fueling Alerts enabled as default. This means that if don't use this feature you need to disable it every time you load a Course onto your device. If you forget to do so, you continually get annoying notices obscuring your screen telling you to eat and drink. It's not difficult to turn off, but it involves a little more button pushing than I am comfortable doing without stopping when mountain biking or gravel riding. Please provide a method to change the default to disabled when loading new courses.

So the setting is actually a global setting even though it appears under each course. Switching it off on any course or workout will switch it off on all courses.

The tricky thing was: when you see „Ride“, you have to scroll down! I never knew that there is something below the „Ride“ button

Where on my device do I find „Smart Fueling Alerts“?

I can find only Drink and Eat alerts.

Google is your friend. Just Google "Smart Fueling Alerts" for multiple hits with an answer.

When you select a course that has been saved to your device, you'll see a screen with a "Ride" button at the bottom. If you scroll to the bottom of this page, you'll see a "Nutrition/Hydration"; press it and you'll get slider switch to Enable/Disable "Plan". With the latest Garmin update you now have to navigate to this slider and Disable Plan for each and every course if you don't want to constantly have eat & drink reminders while navigating any route.

I assume they tried this already if they are now asking on a Garmin specific forum, which I feel like is the best place to ask this, as I too have the same issue after the recent update and couldnt find the answer on Google

I just wanted to provide an update on this issue. It appears that Garmin now has the Smart Fueling Alerts for courses disabled by default? The last three courses that I have loaded into my Edge 1050 had the Nutrition Plan disabled as default. No change needed on my part to disable. Thank you somebody!
