First thing I do with each new FW version is to use a standard short course I keep on the 1050 to check that navigation is still working OK. This course has worked fine with all previous versions, including 28.20, but with 28.33, I get no navigation prompts at all. I load the course, it detects that I'm at the start and asks if I want to ride it, but after I tap Yes, I get garbage straight pink lines appearing on the map, and I get no notification on screen of upcoming turns. I can see the map pointer is following the course I'm riding, but the top of the screen just continually shows the text "Continue to" with nothing else, and I don't get the popups showing what the next turn is and counting down the distance to the turn.
Garmin continue to astound me with the abysmal quality of their software... I've worked in software development for over 30 years, and none of the organisations I worked for would have dreamed of releasing on the world the half-baked crap that Garmin routinely foists on its customers.
