distance not measured

My 1050 is measuring speed. The navigation shows location on the route and direction. But the display does not how distance - just shows zeros.

It is paired with my Cannondale cadence sensor with a fresh battery. The 1050 has been updated with latest updates since purchase. I've done a factory reset etc, but that has not solved the problem.

My ride profiles are Road and Gravel.

This has persisted since day 1 and I'm not sure what else I can do. Appreciate if there is a solution, that someone please post a step by step fix.

Are you sure the start button has been pressed?

I've tried both going for a ride via Road/Gravel and by Navigation/Route.

The question is has the start button been pressed Distance is not measured unless the start button is pressed.

Also, are you sure the correct data field is showing for distance?

The speed matches my Garmin Forerunner 945. Hopefully you can see the fields on the display. I also have my Garmin bike radar working. This is my first bike computer so maybe I'm missing something obvious?

There is Speed but no average Speed - so it‘s obvious that you have not pressed the start button. Right bottom button.

Feeling very sheepish. I didn't use the button as the instructions labels it as "Activity Timer." Newbie mistake.
