Garmin Coach workout sync - is it working for anyone?

Hi All,

Seems to be a common historic problem across the platform so maybe it's a vain hope....I'm trying to follow a Garmin Coach cycling plan. I get alignment in suggested workouts across my Fenix 7, phone and connect web. The Edge 1050 resolutely shows a different session after a few days. After maybe 30min of syncing to phone, via wifi or direct cable connection to PC and reboots I *might* get the right session synced.

I don't want to factory reset the edge every time I want to do a session. Has anyone else had better luck? This should be straightforward right?

Hello,

Don´t waist you time reseting 1050, it doesn't solve anything. I am having exactly the same problem. Meanwhile I have tried triathlon and running plans, both sync quite well with 1050, so it happens only with cycling plan, form me the problem started about 3 weeks ago. Expecting new firmware, maybe it solves.

The only workaround that works for me at the moment:

1. sync edge with connect-app

2. pause the cycling coach in the connect-app

3. sync edge with connect-app -> its should say "no coach plan"

4. continue the garmin coach plan in connect-app and wait until it shows the workouts in the app

5. sync the edge

-> now it should show the correct coach-plan

For me, it looks like the edge dont get the correct cycling-coach-plan from the app. Like it dont sync at all, so the edge build up a "own" plan for itself.

after trying almost everything (besides resetting Edge 1050 into factory state) above steps finally synced it! hope it will help you too!

looks like Garmin has serious issue with syncing, Since even manually added workouts appearing on Edge 1050 after 30 min no matter how many times I was triggering sync.

JonTeflon Just to clarify - are you using Garmin Cycling Coach, or are you using Daily Suggested Workouts? Before we dive into troubleshooting on this, I need to make sure I understand which specific type of training plan you're following.

For me, the Garmin Coach triathlon plan is not syncing. I have tried everything, including a full factory reset and the above suggestion, and also sent out an email to Garmin support, which asked to mail my local sales. Not sure how that is going to help. please help.

This happens with all Garmin coach plans and also with daily suggested workouts on Fenix 8, edge 1040 and 1050, I opened a Ticket 2 months ago at German support, but they don’t offer a solution till today

I have the same problem today.

Garmin Coach in GC and 1050 gives "sprints" but completely different workouts.

The coach is set to adaptive for cycling.

No problem last week.

I clicked on synchronization with my phone and Wi-Fi, and the problem persists

I finally got it to work. I had to delete the race and the plan. switched off my fenix. then synced. Then created a plan for a milestone virtual race. synced. Then it after it showed on the edge, I converted the virtual race to a face-to-face event with a location. Then synced and switched on the fenix. and then change primary back to the Fenix.
