So today I had my first ride with my first Edge unit, a 1050 I got yesterday and immediately updated to sw version 28.20. I also use to run and track activities with a Quatix 7 Pro, which is set to be my Primary Training Device.
To make things simple (I thought), today I left the Quatix at home, and recorded the activity only with Edge. As I'm new to biking, an epic activity for me (2h, 35km, 600m+ elevation gain).
Once back in the garage, I saved the activity on the Edge and since the phone was with me, the Edge immediately synched the activity.
Now in Garmin Connect I can see the activity but then there are a few big problems (big to me since I'm doing cross training, with running and riding):
1) The Training Status metrics didn't update to reflect today's ride. E.g., the synthetic Training Status is shown as Productive, but clicking on the 4-weeks streak shows that today is still in Maintaining. More importantly, my Training Load is not accounting for the big load of today's ride, in a somewhat incomprehensible way; the activity list shows today's 220 load, but my Acute Load today declined down to 173 as if I did nothing (see screenshot). Note that the ride I had last Saturday (see the spike) is instead properly recorded and accounted for as it was recorded with the watch.
2) The Quatix shows no signs of today's ride. E.g. no Recovery needed, while (the Edge shows 68h and Garmin Connect 3h). Also, the activity is not listed in the Activities List in the watch.
I've also tried several different "synchronization sequences" (doing first the Edge, then twice the Quatix, the Edge again and finally the Quatix), repeating and varying both closing the Connect mobile app and/or restarting the Edge. This to obey to the procedure described at: Garmin Unified Training Status. But since the Quatix is not downloading the app from Garmin Connect, it will of course not calculate/update anything related to the Training Status, which then of course can't be uploaded and reflected on Garmin Connect.
What am I overlooking?
Of course the whole point of tracking the activities in this cross training goes nuts if the training load is not properly calculated, nothing consequent from that will make sense.
