5Hz GPS recording

Hi,

Could you please tell me which Garmin Edge models are capable of 5 Hz GNSS recording? Is this the case for the 1050 model, and possibly others? As I understand it, this capability requires specific hardware. I own an 830 model and cannot find the corresponding parameter.

It‘s only available on „modern“ devices x40 and MTB with software 28.xx

which has the Synaptics SYN4778 GNSS chipset. 1050, MTB and Fenix8. the x40 series have older and different Airoha AG3335 chipset (theoretically it is capable for higher rate than 1Hz, just the power consuption is very high comparing to the newer chipset, 3-4x higher for sure, so probably it is one of the reasons why these older Edges wont get this feature in the future). the x30 series have even older Sony chipset, which has only single-band so that is EOL since many years
