After update to 28.20 hidding streets name dosn't work
I assume you are referring to,
Menu > Activity Profiles > (Select Profile) > Navigation > Map > Appearance > Advanced > Zoom Levels > Street Labels (do you have it = Off or a specific zoom level?)
and / or Menu > Activity Profiles > (Select Profile) > Navigation > Map > Appearance > Advanced >Text Size > Street Labels = None ?
I have both and no labels but I have not yet updated (and won't if this is not working)
"Zoom Levels" option is no longer available. There is only text size options: Small, Medium, Large. The "none" option is missing.
But the map renders very quickly. Now it looks more or less like in this video: www.youtube.com/watch
no more option "Zoom Levels". You can control only text size small, medium, high
Thanks for the warning, there is nothing I need in 28.20 so looks like I will be giving that and future releases a big miss.or reverting to map data without routing or street names like the bbbike.org Garmin on-road format.. if Garmin keeps removing useful functions there won’t be much left soon.
ps I wonder what other useful features they have removed and forgotten to mention to us?
pps my map screen (1040) has always rendered quickly because I don't load it down with pointless stuff, I get 80+ hours (often 90+) from a battery charge, in 3 years I have never had a crash, freeze, re-boot, ...but I decide what runs and what doesn't (as much as garmin lets me?)
But the map renders very quickly
But, in my ignorance of these matters, I fail to see why a setting which does not require all the I/O to extract the street names from the map .IMG and does not require the cpu cycles & I/O to render all the street names on the map screen can possibly be a source of map rendering improvement, I would have thought the opposite was the case ??
Why then did they do it ????? Just to annoy me perhaps ??????? ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-)
