Are you kidding me, brand new EDGE 1050 auto pulled 20.80 and now just keeps booting at language prompt

Got the edge 1050, after setting up it autopulled 2080 and now jsut loops to the language panel. 
Went through and removed folders recommedned to try and get it to load 2080 again, but same result. 
Gets to ENGLISH then boots with screen "SAving diagnostics' over and over... this is crap spend 700 dollars for a DOA product day 1. 

  • I'm in the same boat, anyone got tips on how to get  working again? 
    Looks like garmin had to do a wahoo...

  • Give-up. It's not your device it's Garmin's (at least they think/treat it as such). They determine what firmware you run. You may have paid for it but reality seems Garmin don't care and they push whatever they want, they'll happily brick your device despite your wishes. I've now learnt that it's what you get dealing with a company like Garmin. Hardware is excellent, software a disaster.

  • Just for information for anyone else who is in the same predicament:

    A 3-button factory reset did NOT help! Don’t waste your time. Try to get it connected to PC and remove any custom maps. Yes, it’s that old bug we’ve already had before apparently.

    So what I have found or occurs now

    • let it set overnight, the next day it quit the boot loop and finished the update to whatever is the latest being forced.
    • if in dark mode for display that puts it in a boot loop still (set so it doesn't use dark right now)
    • navigation spastically locks up and boot loops too.(quit trying to use maps)

    • Started right after updating. Reset the device and worked for a couple of minutes, and started boot looping again.
  • my best luck so far is not using dark mode or nav. this thing is in default state no custom loads 

  • Mine just booted up itself and beeping all the time because of low battery in my H10. Now it started a loop and telling med it saved diagnostics all the time. The device is maybe 3 months old… when booting off it turns off with the icon in the middle. Never done that before.

    • Brief description of what was occurring on your Edge prior to this boot loop/messaging. Whenever I boot it up again and click a few times in the menu it shuts down with the saving diagnostics.
    • What mapping do you have installed? 
      • Including custom or third party maps. The only one I updated is the european map.
