Amount of shifting is displayed on the edge but not saved on GC, why?

As the subjects says, at the end of a ride the edge gives a nice summary of how many shifts you made with the rear derailleur and how many on the front.  Sadly this cool info is not saved on garmin connect along with all the other stats. Please change that.

  • It's been like that on all three Garmin cycling GPS I've had since I started using electronic shifting about a decade ago.

  • That's not a sarcastic question - I'm serious. What‘s the benefit of knowing this?

  • honestly i am not sure other then maybe distinguishing from different type of rides that require more or less shifting. Maybe comparing same rides to see if the amount of shifting is similar. Maybe comparing with friends that do the same rides to see how we compare. If its available why not save it. I have no use for 80% of the data they save now but i guess its cool and doesnt hurt. Like ground strike time when I run. What am i doing with that data?
