There is a Beta 13.14 out!

 - please open the 1050 Beta Discussion Forum!

At the moment it is closed, bc „there is no active beta“. There is a actual beta! And it is very important to know if it is working now!

  • Change Log 13.14:

    • Fixed freezes and crashes while navigating or viewing the map page
    • Fixed pairing issues with inReach Mini 2
  • I installed it. During first install attempt the device crashed during update process. But i could reset it by holding power button. Second attempt to update was succesful. No crashes/freezes so far, while the device is idle on the table, showing openMTBmap. Did not test it on a ride yet.

  • Updated to 13.14 without any issues.

Three-hour ride, all sensors connected (power meter, radar, heart rate, AXS) and third-party map activated (Garmin maps disabled).
There were no sensor disconnections, no crashes, reboots, or shutdowns of the device.
The device was stable at all times, the map showed no signs of failure, and zoomed in and out quickly (this was a ride without navigation).
Data transfer to Garmin Connect also went well, with no data loss.
Overall, everything went well for me.

  • My experience was a little different. I only have the edge for about one week. Did one ride with 13.3 and no issues. Installed 13.4 and did another ride today. For the first 30 minutes or so the touch screen was not responsive at all. I was cursing myself for updating the beta but then after about 30 minutes the unit starting behaving perfectly. (I only have Garmin maps, not external maps, etc). The rest of the ride was perfect with one exception which is probably a BUG. When navigating and the map pops up right before a turn, the Varia side bars did not turn ORANGE. I could see the dots, but no orange side bar. If the map page is displayed it worked fine, only during the pop up map right before a turn. Hopefully Garmin will fix soon and hopefully the touchscreen issue will not return.

  • Looks like this would fix the map freezing that I have been experiencing lately. The only fix that works for me right now is to go into GPS settings and select Auto, then the map updates and start working again. But it’s good to know Garmin is acknowledging the issue.

  • Installed and 80 km workout done. Using custom maps and all sensors as normally. No crashes! Amazing,  it works! So happy,  almost entered a new Karoo from webshop.

  • go into Garmin connect website. Find your device in devices section and enroll it into beta program. Then on the device make sure you have wifi configured go to system -> updates -> check for update. Remember to leave beta program once stable firmware with the fix is released unless you're ok with testing new, potentially not fully stable versions early.

  • still crashes every ride (at this time indoor). Garmin is the Garmin like always)

  • Garmin, dont forget the BUG that when the map pops up for a turn direction and the Varia Radar detects a car, the orange side bars are missing. This is a little dangerous in that we are used to seeing the orange bars and in the situation above all we see are the white dots for cars, with no color side bars
