Why does the 1050 not recognise when a map update is happening? It switches off automatically and will never update the 18GB required at this rate!

try disabling auto sleep in profile settings. As name suggest screen won't timeout till battery dies. But direct downloads are slow and I'd use Garmin Express for PC to update maps. 10x faster or more…
