Why is Garmin refusing to offer downgrade support?
You released a critically flawed update that renders the device completely unusable, yet you offer no way to roll back to a stable version.
Garmin has a legal responsibility to ensure the products it sells function as advertised.
Failing to resolve this issue or provide downgrade options may expose Garmin to legal claims or consumer protection violations.
This situation is completely unacceptable, and immediate action is required.

    I'm desperate for a downgrade. I didn't want up upgrade but the device decided to do it anyway. And heading off on tour soon when I'll have lvery limited Wi-fi and even more limited phone data available and totally dependent on device for navigting.

    Garmin have really @£$%^&* me on this. No time to even return to factory for a downgrade. All that can rescue me is an option from Garmin to downgrade but they are showing no interest in their customers.Should have followed my inclination and abandoned Garmin when I gave-way and purchased the 1050 - seems big mistake. But without downgrade I'm facing abandon tour of buy a competitor product that works.

    Downgrade to latest working version seems to be a quick fix for me - but only if it works without loosing data / factoryresetting the device. Probably this is the painpoint with this option... ?

    Hopefully they fix it soon. Need to set back to my old 1030 meanwhile :-(

    I have a 10.18 beta firmware that I had found online and used a couple of times.
    I tried to downgrade to 10.18, but version 13.13 no longer allows it!

    How do you do that. Garmin seems to be failing to recognise what they've done to users (and how people can turn away from a brand when severly impacted by their failures).

    What happenes if you copy the upgrade file to the device? Is there an error message or does nothing happen?

    Before, I renamed the file to gupdate.gcd and it worked, while now nothing happens.

    There‘s a saying, one has to do following (I don‘t know if it works!):

    Create an empty file named force.tmp, copy this file and gupdate.gsp to the Garmin directory. Restart the device.

    I've downgraded to 11.24 (latest update file I have) using force.tmp method. It still just works. I even tried to post a downgrade package on the forums but it's one of a few things Garmin answers to quickly and they took it down in like 10 minutes.
