Garmin Edge 1050 wont connect to any PC with any cable

Hi

Any ideas how I can connect my Garmin Edge 1050 with the latest software 13.13 to Garmin Express version 7.25.0+a13e85b4. My garmin started the screen freeze / looping last Thursday and hasnt worked since. I have lodged an support issue with Garmin Australia but they slow in replying. Have tried the hold all 3 buttons for a period of time and soft reset without success.

Cheers
Michael

  • Hello I would recommend trying the below steps to get this Edge connected to a PC. This may need to be repeated a few times for it to work if your Edge is currently in a bad state.

    • Start with Edge powered off and unplugged
    • Press and hold the Lap/Reset button
    • Plug into PC while holding Lap/Reset
    • Release Lap/Reset after 15 seconds
  • Hi Garmin-Blake

I tried the above 10+ times without any success. I used 3 different cables and 2 computers.

I was holding the left bottom button

    Any other suggestions?

    Regards
    Michael

  • Just hold the on/off button for 10 seconds and your edge will restart. After that i would deactivate all non-Garmin-Maps. After that your edge should work again.

    Kind regards Stefab

  • If that is unsuccessful, you can try a master reset which will erase all information on the Edge, but should resolve this.

    • Start with the Edge powered off
    • Hold Lap/Reset and Start/Stop buttons in
    • Power Edge back on
    • Let go of Lap/Reset after 5 seconds
    • Let go of Start/Stop after 5 additional seconds

If that is still unsuccessful, you will need to reach out to your local Support Team as we would be unable to resolve this with you remotely through the forums.
