Repeatable System Freeze follwong update to 13.13

I got a system freeze each time following an auto pause longer than app. 30 sec. I updated to V13.13 just before the ride yesterday. The recording stopped as well. To fix it I needed a very long press on the Power on button, followed by a restart of the 1050

  • Same, just one click from ordering Karoo. Really annoying. 700€ pice of ****.

  • I have the same problem frequently, but at irregular intervals. I've tried many things without success.

But today I may have found a solution: disabling all non-Garmin maps. I don't like the layout, but it hasn't crashed since...

  • Same issue for me and many other I am finding.

My way to fix this, along with others was to remove any custom maps you may have installed. This is not acceptable long term as I rely on those maps. I have an event coming up in June and only cutom maps will work for me, I'm going to be screwed without those maps and starting to panic.

  • I have emailed Garmin support, I suggest eveyone else does the same to make sure they are fully aware of the extent of this issue.

  • Updated last Friday to 13.13 and Saturday the freezes started. Must be something with the number being 13.13. And I use OpenFietsMap. Don't want to remove that but if that's the solution for now I might.

  • I think I managed to fix this with some help from someone else.

I wiped my Edge 1050 and downloaded my usual maps from https://garmin.bbbike.org/, the moment I started a ride and tried to browse the map, the 1050 locked up.

Wiped it again and downloaded the maps from garmin.opentopomap.org/ (which I am sure is the same maps) yet this time everything was fine, and has been in the testing I have done over the last couple of hours.

Also interesting that the maps downloaded from garmin.opentopomap.org/ do not show in the "Other" category on my Edge 1050 like the maps from https://garmin.bbbike.org/ do.

  • I disabled "auto Pause" and experienced no more crash. Far from perfect, but ok as a work around until Garmin gets it fixed
