Firmware 13.13: 6 crashes during a 35km ride...

With that information we can look into this with you since we are not seeing widespread reports, but want to make sure to diagnose what's causing this on your device.

Same issue here. Edge 1050 freeze after some minutes into an activity.

After updating to 13.13 the Edge entered a boot-and-reboot loop. I could end it by holding the lap button for quite a while while the device was connected to my Mac. After deleting the contents of the RemoteSW directory, the Edge seemed to work normally.

Well, until I started cycling: It froze after less than a kilometre. By pressing the power button for 10+ seconds, I could switch it off - only to find it freezing again 30 seconds (or less) after it reported a satellite fix.

We (the Edge and I) repeated the whole procedure a couple of times untilI I finally gave up and left the Edge turned off.

Since all the trouble started with 13.13, I suspect causality.

Same problem here. I've had 12.18 installed for months with no problems, but after my 1050 updated to 13.13, it froze just after the 2km point of my first ride this morning after the update. I had to do the extended press of the power button to force a reboot, as the screen was frozen and the start/stop activity button wasn't responding either. When it came back up I was able to restart the activity, but the unit froze again a couple of km further on. At which point I just left it like that for the rest of the ride.

Garmin's abysmal software quality strikes again...

I performed a "Delete data and reset settings" from the system menu on the 1050 after getting back from my ride, but it has just frozen again while connected to a charging cable - no response to anything on the screen or any buttons except for the prolonged press on the power buttom to power it down. This update has made the unit pretty useless. How can I reinstall the previous FW, which didn't have these problems.

I'm experiencing the same issue here, and I'm confident it's related to version 13.13.I’ve already used the 'Clear Upload History' function in Garmin Express and installed the latest maps, but that didn’t resolve the problem. I need my 1050 working soon for an upcoming long-distance race. As a workaround, is there a way to install a previous version?

Me too, not even while riding. I reset it hoping it'd work so I could go for a long ride today. It seemed good last night, but this morning it was freezing every few minutes again.

Yes, same here. It freezed immediately when I pressed the start button. 

Removing the content of the RemoteSW folder did not help either - as advised in earlier post.
