Adding a Dutch bankcard (for Dutchies).

Hello,

I tried to add my Dutch bankcard to my Edge 1050, in the instruction it tells me that I should not fill in a security code (since it bakcard and not a credit card, it doesn't have any) and leave it open. But when I try to add that card, the software tells me that I have to add that field.

Any idea how to do that? Or isn't it possible?

Thanks in advance

  • Don’t debit cards in NL also have a security code?

  • Credit cards yes, with 'regular' bank cards you have a pin code which you (randomly) once in a while have to enter...

  • Hmmmm, didn't have issues with the ABN, though you should also read up on the site of the Bank to see what they require.
In my case I first had to create a viritual card through their own portal and link that to garmin connect iirc.

Then you get a security code when you try to add it to a device, it's been a while and it works fine on my watches and 1050 (even paid with it once, which felt more odd than with a watch)

  • The instructions are clear (or I am missing something):

    - buy a wearable (done, edge 1050 and Fenix 8)

    - check card number on bank site or App (done)

    - Add card to garmin connect app.... and there it asks for a 'beveiligingscode/security code' No idea what that is for the regular bank card.

(trying to add a screenshot of the app but can't copy it here)

  • I figured it out... the security number is a 3 digit number that is on your card. On the card it is called 'Pass nr'.
