garmin 1050 backlight setting

hi guys

i coming from a 1030 to a 1050. i used to keep the 1030 backlight on 15 sec setting. when i use this setting on the 1050 after the 15 sec is up the screen goes pretty much dark. i have to keep the backlight on all the time to see the screen....is this normal??

Yes!

Edge 1030 has a transflective display which needs no backlight in sunlight. (…but has dull colors with backlight)
Edge 1050 has a transmissive display which only works with backlight. (…but has bright colors)
