I have come from a 1030 to 1050
I am a 75 year old endurance cyclist covering 1000s of miles ,and my reason for choosing the 1050 was primarily because of the inbuilt speaker and its ability to give spoken turn by turn navigation. With the 1030 I had spoken navigation through my iPhone. . If f I missed a turning I had immediate continual bleeps followed by TURN AROUND WHEN POSSIBLE. I relied on it because I have impaired close vision and the I really need the spoken navigation and off course warnings. as a backup for my poor eyesight. I do not use the re routing if I can help it because I want to ride my courses some of which have taken months to work out.
I have had the the 1050 for 3 weeks and the turn by turn directions worked brilliantly until one day I missed a turning in noisy traffic and the 1050 gave me no proper audio warning. It was ages before I realised I was off course and in the end I gave up and cut the ride short returning to the start.
Please help me or I have wasted a lot of money on a useless tool for my needs.
