12.17 and Varia RCT715 camera widget

It seems that 12.17 (or 5.50 on the RCT715, or a combination of both) has broken the camera widget. Swipe down and scroll left or right, it appears as an icon at the bottom, but I cannot swipe or scroll to it. Actually pressing the icon does nothing.  Have removed and re-paired the Varia, but still the same. Camera & light appear to be otherwise working at usual, however without the widget, it's not really possible to swipe down and save clips.

Anyone else experiencing the same?

    I've just been playing around with it a little more off the bike, and it looks like a new set of camera controls has appeared on the screen that pops up with the hazard, home and bell buttons, with camera controls. This has quick actions for take photo, save clip, record ride. They are a little small in my opinion and aren't as effective as the previous widget. They can be customised to remove take photo and record ride, leaving only the save clip button which is slightly better, but nowhere near as good or as easy to use as the previous widget.

    It would be good if the previous widget functionality could be restored please, even if the new way remains - also I noticed that camera controls with Edge remote and/or DI2 buttons appeared in a few of the 12.xx beta releases (which looked great as I had submitted this as a feature request back in 2022), however it didn't make it into this release unfortunately.

    My Edge just upgraded to 12.18. Now the new Varia controls have disappeared and no sign of the old widget. Is it just me?

    Mine’s just updated to 12.18, and the original widget is back! New controls have gone… if you have no widget, might be worth seeing if it’s still enabled, Menu / System / Widgets and hit + if it’s not there.

    I was just getting warmed up to that new interface on the "home" screen and now its back to the way it was...the Home screen set of shortcuts was not bad, quicker access to save pics and vids...wonder why they reverted!???

    I'm a retired IT guy, I'd guess this feature 'escaped' in a revision and should be in a release so it's fully supported. Worse things happen at sea but it's not a good look.
