Is the trailforks map installed? Check Menu > System > Map Manager > Other Maps.
And if installed, check that the map is enabled in your activity profile: Menu > Activity Profiles > select your Activity Profile > Navigation > Map > Configure Maps and make sure Trailforks is enabled.
Thankyou for taking the time to reply. Nowhere i looked told me i had to insall Trailforks! However looking at their subscription model I dont think it is is for me, i will explore other options
I did not say you need to install Trailforks. I asked you to check whether the Trailforks map is installed on your Edge 1050.
The Edge 1050 comes with Trailforks maps for MTB trails. The Trailforks Connect IQ app is not supported anymore on the Edge 1050.
I checked and it’s not. I bought this Garmin edge secondhand and I suppose the previous owner may have deleted it for some reason
You should be able to reinstall the Trailforks maps either via the Map Manager on the device or via Garmin Express when connecting the Edge 1050 to a computer.
I assume that the Trailforks map is installed (it is the d7557130a.img in the \Garmin directory of the Edge for the 2024/20 version).
But forget it ... the mountain bike trail navigation has not worked (error-free) on any Edge device since its introduction. Sometimes trails are found, but navigation with such a destination fails. In the most majority of cases, however, you end up in an endless loop when searching for a tour.
I have had several sessions with Garmin support, always the same answer: It is up to the developers of Trailforks
Servus peggatsch
I got the Trailforks Map installed and then found a list of trails but the resultant map in my opinion is useless for navigation so I won’t be continuing with Trailforks
