New 1050 in reboot loop

Bought a new 1050 and directly had to do 4 factory resets.

New 1050 came with a SW version 7.19 and I paired it with my phone. After that it asked for an update and it was in reboot lop #1.

After factory reset: Entered the first few settings (mostly skip), metric, etc, then paired it with my phone and it went directly in reboot loop #2.

After factory reset: Tried the same again -> reboot loop #3 (I just have the feeling, it was not exactly at the same time as before)

After factory reset: skipped pairing with phone but connected it to my PC with Garmin Express. Did a few updates (no map update so far), then paired it with my phone -> reboot loop #4

After factory reset: connected to PC and followed all update steps until Garmin Express requested to disconnect the device to continue, The 1050 was then ok but still on SW version 7.19. Setup WiFi (did NOT pair my phone) and found under Settings->System->About, that I can update to SW version 11.24 Performed the update and saw "Update complete". Then paired with my phone (had to remove the edge Bluetooth connection from my phone first) and finally it worked.

  • Similar experience.  FIrst bootloop and factory reset about an hour after opening the box for the first time with same old firmware. Happend after disabling some maps on first sync via USB. Brilliant user experience for a device this price range.... After second update via USB PC connection all seems up2date now and no boot loop. Even Garmin Coach seems to sync. I still do not trust the 1050 yet.
