Yeah, so with the new 1050, there is no longer a startup tone, so when the unit crashes it just sits with the ride stopped until I look down and see the red flag.
Just make the ride restart automatically if it was not stopped when the unit crashed. Should be pretty simple to write the state to flash and read it back upon restarting from a crash.
