Make Windows assign a drive letter to the device when connected?

When I connect my Edge 1030 Plus to my Windows 11 computer, Windows assigns the drive letter F: to the unit in File Manager.  This is useful for copying files to the unit with batch files.  But when I connect my Edge 1050 to my machine, Windows simply calls the device "Edge 1050," without a drive letter.  This means it can't be used in batch files.  I've searched the Internet for a way to make Windows assign a drive letter to the device, to no avail.
