How to easily send a searched address from your phone to Garmin (Google Maps)?

Hi, I have a basic and pressing problem with my Garmin 1050 Edge navigation.

In short, the 1050 Edge cannot search for an address in Sweden.

I discussed it with support, and they said they also can't search for addresses on the new Edge 1050.

I am asking for advice, ideally a step-by-step guide on how to send a searched address from my phone to the Garmin.

I get into stressful situations when I'm riding my bike and need to reach a destination.

I can quickly find it on my phone(iPhone) using Google Maps or Apple Maps, but I can't easily send the address from my phone to the Garmin.

Thank you for any advice.

  • A while ago Garmin added a feature to share postions as navigation target via Iphone. Check if you can share a position from apple maps with the Garmin connect app.

I am on Android there they didn't implement that, no clue why. I stuck a garmin mount on my phone case so I can quickly click it on my handle bar in such situations.

  • Thank you so much for mentioning this! I was so frustrated from not being able to search for and navigate to an address on my 1050. Can confirm: Apple maps search result can be shared with Connect app. Connect app then lets you send that address to the connected 1050. Still can't search on 1050 device itself, but I am OK with that workaround.

  • Thank you so muchThumbsup, I feel relieved now that I can finally search for an address.

It works well with Apple Maps, and I just need to press the button to export it to Garmin Connect.

Personally, I use Google Maps a lot, but unfortunately, I don’t see this function for Connect there.

Is there a different method for that?

It’s really a shame that Garmin sells its top cycling navigation device, and it can't search for addresses!Face palm‍♂️

For me, that was the primary reason for purchasing the navigationTriumph.
