is slope saved in the gpx / tcx?

My 1050 seems to be doing a much better job than the 1030 calculating the slope, but it is not saved in the gpx/tcx, and other software like Telemetry Overlay is not really able to calculate the slope as well from the GPX.
Given the unit calculates it, is it not possible to also record it?

hGrade (a Connect IQ datafield) has the option of recording gradient in the activity fit file. Maybe others do too. Nothing is saved as GPX or TCX.

I was surprised, the instructions on hGrade say it's for devices that do not have the Grade datafield, but all the 10x0 have it, although it does not get saved in the FIT.
I am not aware of any configurability of what the unit saves, unfortunately.

I’ve been using it on a 530 instead of the native gradient field and it is listed as compatible with the 1050 so it should work. It’s settings are configured through the GC app.
