Does the Edge 1050 that is not sold in Japan support Japanese language (system language, maps language, display of Kanji, turn by turn navigation)?
I would like to buy the model sold in Australia if I can as it's my home country and I would like support and warranty here. I have the 1040 and it is not able to be changed to Japanese system language and it doesn't support Kanji characters. This is annoying when I want to go to Japan on holiday as the Garmin maps just display ??? and no Kanji, while the OSM maps only display Romaji.
I have heard reports that the Japanese model now sits on a global firmware and not a special APAC firmware, so this gives me hope. Anyone from a country other than Japan with an Edge 1050 that has tried this out? At the bare minimum is Japanese selectable as the system language? 日本語
