I'm experiencing exactly the same problem in Australia with latest 12.17 FW for the 1050 and whatever the latest Garmin map is for Australia - the map shows the correct direction to navigate the roundabout, but the prompt at the top of the screen shows the mirror image. The problem has existing for at least a decade on all the Garmin cycling GPS I've used for navigation: 1000, 1030, 1030+, 1050.
Garmin seem incapable of getting this right for countries where driving is on the left. I've never seen this inconsistency when I've been touring in Europe in countries that drive on the right, but here in Australia the error happens all the time.
