I've been playing with the Group Ride feature, through which I've realised it could be great for planning and hosting rides, but the current implementation is just too restrictive.
I've found that creating, managing and joining group rides is all done on the Edge computer. When there is a general need for a system for groups to organise rides, attendance vote, chat related to the ride, the ability to share, and all from an app and the web. Similar to chasingwatts.com
Garmin could implement/expand Group Ride as a way to create events/rides via the web (Connect), add details, invite people and manage group chat about the ride.... then when the ride starts you can start it on the Edge device and use it as it is now. This I think could be brilliant and very popular.
I sincerely hope that Garmin extend the Group Ride feature to enable management of events and rides, it's a much wanted service and I think it'd bring more people to Garmin's eco system
