I have noticed that the Edge 1050 is not yet available at Amazon, REI, Crutchfield, ***'s etc. I would like to purchase at REI due to their return policy. Anyone know when it will be available at these large retailers?

Second this hoping for an answer from Garmin. Every year the new release is widely unavailable during the height of the season and something like this is fairly critical to planned events. My purchase need decreases by the day, and if REI does not have it, I won’t buy it. If I don’t buy it for my next trip, I won’t. It’s a loss of customer honestly. I’ll end up going with another brand.
unlike every other new garmin I have ever purchased, the 1050 is ready to work
I've been checking just about every day, and today is the day!
Garmin Edge 1050 Bike Computer | REI Co-op
Hopefully, it'll stay in stock until I have the money to pull the trigger.
Thanks for this update! Purchased! Too bad it’s not in store today for me to swing by and pick one up on the way to my event. This was my original complaint here in this forum to Garmin was that they didn’t get these into our hands in time for 90percent of the summer events. Missed opportunity.
cheers!
I bought my Edge 1050 at a local bike shop. My local bike shop closed earlier this year. They were a sponsor of our club, and gave a 20% discount on almost everything a member bought. So I paid full price this time, but I looked at their return policy, and it is 14 days on unused items. This may not be as generous as REI's policy, but they had the 1050 within a very few days of Garmin's announcement (announcement on June 25, and I purchased the unit on June 29).
I'll have to REI in mind in the future, since as a member, I can get a rebate.
