Corrupt FIT file won't upload from 1050 to Garmin Connect and Strava

please help i did a great ride with some huge 15% climbs but it won't upload!  I used the navigation/power guide and pace partner for Garmin 1050 and the ride is in the 1050 but won't upload to garmin connect.  I think the FIT file is corrupted cause it is saying the ride already exists when it doesnt.  Please help!

Anywhere else it could be saved or does the fit file have to be fixed?

Here is a dropbox link to the file

thanks!

Justin

  • Thank you.  I trust it shows up the way you have described but the Edge was showng the correct data all the way from the start.  The only thing worth mentioning was that I not only stopped the Edge but even switched it off (and later on -on again) during the stop in Kozina.

What I did as a consequence was merging the missing part of the ride with the corresponding one from another rider.  Better than nothing at all.

    Thanks again.

  • Hello, Seilogramp.  Me again with a similar issue as months ago:  Did a 125 ride today, shown as such in Connect and in Strava, but the record seems to be spoiled again, showing merely the last 1,5km.  My 2nd ride wit a new/replaced Edge 1050 unit, btw.  During the ride (at some 85km into it) the Edge rebooted during navigation, that's the only peculiarity I remember, otherwise I was able to observe the data all the time.  Can not activate FitFile tools myself, so I am forced to ask you for your kind help again.  Thank you in advance.  MV

  • In order to attempt to repair this, I'll need your fit file, not the link to your activity.

    • Zip the file, then in a reply post Insert >> Image/video/file >> click Upload >> browse for file >> OK.
    • Or upload the fit file to a reputable file sharing service, such as OneDriveGoogle DriveDropbox, make the file public, then paste a link to the file in your post.
  • Are you able to retrieve the fit file from your Garmin device? That is the file you zip then upload here. If still issues, just send me a private message.

  • Got it. Unfortunately, there is very little data here. 3 minutes total. Are all of your rides like this, or just this one? I'd contact Garmin Support if they're all like this.

  • No, just this one after a long time.  Close to 19k km YTD.  Garmin support had, previopusly, merely rediredted me to the local Garmin office who did not know how to approach the matter.  Would you have any other connection there?
