Corrupt FIT file won't upload from 1050 to Garmin Connect and Strava

please help i did a great ride with some huge 15% climbs but it won't upload! I used the navigation/power guide and pace partner for Garmin 1050 and the ride is in the 1050 but won't upload to garmin connect. I think the FIT file is corrupted cause it is saying the ride already exists when it doesnt. Please help!

Anywhere else it could be saved or does the fit file have to be fixed?

Seems to impact the start of the ride. The corrupted data is before the first data record.

There were several records with corrupt data that contained GPS coordinates and timestamps that were clearly…

I have tried both but as I have not ever used them before I may not be doing things correctly. I am unable to see the 1050 on the right of the Open MTP screen. All I see are instructions for Android phone which don't work!

Hello, Seilogramp. I hope you will kindly have a look: I did a the following ride yesterday: 204 km, 29.5 km/h, 2,160 m/2,460 m, as I could upload to Connect and Komoot, however not to Strava, only to find out later that the map and the details only showed the last 90,5 km. It seems that the timestamps are erroneous. Can you do anything to recover the whole 204km ride, pls? KRgds, MV My 204km ride

I would need the fit file from your Garmin device located in the \GARMIN\Activity folder.

Zip the file, then in a reply post Insert >> Image/video/file >> click Upload >> browse for file >> OK.
Or upload the fit file to a reputable file sharing service, such as OneDrive, Google Drive, Dropbox, make the file public, then paste a link to the file in your post.

I just cannot get Macdroid, Open MTP or Commander One to even find the Edge 1050! Am at a loss. I have 2 major rides I need to upload. Any other ideas please? My Edge 1030 failed and I had to replace it, hence the 1050 purchase but the 1050 is very erratic.

Did you install Garmin Express? - Accessing the Garmin Folder of a Garmin Device on a Mac Computer

NOTE: Some devices may require you to open the Garmin Express program and add or sync the device before it will show up as a drive on your computer. For instructions on installing Garmin Express see: How Do I Install Garmin Express?

If still no joy, maybe someone with more macOS experience could assist. Or try to find a Windows PC that you can borrow.

Looks like GPS didn't start working until after the group left the restaurant in Kozina, which would be about 121 km into the ride. Garmin shows correct totals because of the sensors you were using. Not much I can do, as that positional data is missing.

But what I did do is take the GPX track from one of the other riders in the group and used that to fix yours. But that doesn't fix your time, which still shows as 3:12:25. It might mess up your stats and Strava segments.
