1050 is telling me that every ride is the longest I’ve done when they are not

Actually doesn’t happen every time, but often.

It is happening for me every day even after a couple of rides which were way faster, way longer (double +) and triple the climbing.

Same here. Happens after every ride on my device. A bit annoying to be honest. Looks like a sw-bug. Had it from day one and with all sw-releases including the latest beta release. Hopefully Garmin will solve the issue soon.

Can it be that you have to accept the longest ride? Like records in garmin connect (web at least). If you had not accepted any then every new will be the new longest one.

I get a new best 40km time each day that I ride that far!

Same here.  Is this a forum that Garmin actually monitors and posts replies to or do they just sit back and chuckle while the community figures another solution to their half-baked products?

actually it is a feature to make people happy that they are awesome every time, even when they are not ;)

that being said, this forum is not for bug reporting - while they can monitor it, there is no guarantee that they will, and it may or may not have an impact

reporting issues directly to the support is the official way - though they usually just replace the device (even when it is a software issue)

Garmin tell us the 1050 is their smartest device yet? But in my experience the "records" on the device are connected with Garmin Connect (web?) history. I don't use GC for my history and periodically delete all the rides there and my next ride is always the longest, highest, quickest, ...., but I really know it isn't.

Unfortuanly for you the Edge uses GC to track the records so deleting the history will clear the records.
