I never used it on my 1040 over the two years I owned it, but when I tried to use the alarm feature on my 1050 recently, I was left wonder what is the point of it? It seems that the feature cannot be used while an activity is running. I tried using it at a convenience store in the middle of a metric century. I wanted to set the alarm while I went into the store. We can't swipe the widgets screen down while an activity is paused, which would give me access to turn the alarm on, so I had to disable my manual activity pause and then try to set the alarm. After doing the dance to get a code added, it told me I can't set an alarm because an activity is running. How am I supposed to use this feature on long rides, which are the ones I am mostly likely to want to pause and use the alarm on?
