I was able to correct this, Sadly I have to report that Garmin support was absolutely worthless. Total waste of time. After messing with it more I figured out that a profile setting somewhere was corrupt…
Hello all, thanks for your participation here.
The reboot loop smanley described initially was resolved by removing some corrupted activity profiles during a device reset.
If you began experiencing a reboot…
I actually solved it by holding the Lap Button down, connect to a windows PC, wait until it captures „Loader 14.11“ and then you see the Garmin Edge folder. I simply deleted the whole Edge drive folder completely. Then disconnect and restart the Edge. It then works normally after complete new setup process and re-downloading all maps.
I am also experiencing the same issue. Hard powered off my edge 1050 multiple times. It is restarting after about 20 secs so during the loop I went into settings to factory reset the garmin. That did not solve the problem and it is still looping. I have had my gamin edge for only a month.
Yes forgot to update. I talked to support and we tried a few things. In the end downloading garmin escape on my desktop, connecting my garmin through usb and holding the lap bottom and then updating to the most recent software solved the issue
How annoying. I had to do a factory reset, obviously lost all my screens. What a joke, back to releasing beta software on customers. I pay over $1200 for an edge 1050 and have two watches costing me similar and today all devices had sh_t the bed.
Might be time to make fewer products and perfect the ones you release.
MY Edge 1050 has developed this endless loop problem just this morning when I was ready to leave home for a cycle!
It's worked fine for the last 6 months!
