Crashing whilst saving activity, and duplicate activities.

I've had my 1050 for a few days, and it's been mostly fine (my enduro 2 watch icon in connect on android has changed to a 1050, sensors sometimes don't automatically connect etc.).

However I've got a serious problem when it comes to saving an activity. My 1050 will 9/10 times reboot itself after the self evaluation page. After it's started up again, I'm given the chance to save the activity again, however again, 9/10 times it will reboot itself. Usually after the 3rd or 4th time, it does actually save, but it is hugely annoying, and always seems to leave two copies of the activity on my feed. One has all my stats and map etc. The other does not.

Just wondering if anyone has had this issue, and if it's worth me resetting the device and starting again?

Not sure if this had anything to do with the problem, but if I go to add device in the android connect app, the 1050 shows up,but it's already in my account under devices.

  • Just adding to this, my activities aren't uploading to Strava when the reboot happens.

If I try to manually upload the .fit file to Strava, it says the file is corrupt. The .gpx works but doesn't have any of my stats.

  • I had the reboot too after trying to save my ride. One of the two files was empty, no visible ride on the map. Just the distance. Deleted  the duplicate. Sync to Strava was slow.

Also could not download .gpx file to manually upload to Strava from the desktop Connect.

  • Same. When changing data fields while setting up, just keeps rebooting.

  • Same, rebooting when saving activity.

  • Mine crashes often during activities. I had to stop waiting for the reboot and then most of the activity stats reset leading to incorrect data in the end.

  • Same here, every time I try to save the activity for the first time the device reboots, usually the second time I save it it works, but the fit file is corrupted and I need to repair it with the FIT SDK, before manually uploading to connect.

Annoying as ***, I hope they fix it soon.

  • Yep.   5th time in a month

come on Garmin.   Fix this stuff

  • Same issues here! Software version is 9.11. When will Garmin fix these annoying bugs finally and offer a software update? Can it be true to have the newest and most expensive bike computer in portfolio and then without any ability to use it reliable?…

  • Just received my 1050 yesterday and took it for its first ride. Same thing—crash after clicking save. Luckily was able to get it to work on the second try without losing any data. I’m also unable to view my activities in the Garmin Connect app. Not after syncing over Bluetooth or WiFi. Seriously annoying. Especially on an $800 computer.
