Edge 1050 too long for Giant Propel aero handlebar

Hello,

I have just received my Edge 1050 and I am so sad and disappointed. The new Edge 1050 does not fit in my mount while the Edge 1040 fits perfectly fine. Garmin has re-design the mount and moved it 0.5cm which ruins my desire to have this device. I have contacted Garmin Support and the agent named "Thomas" didn't help and didn't want to raise a case to ask Garmin to re-design it, he said they did it in that way to balance the weight of the device, which is fine but why they didn't think that moving the mount would carry issues on some 1040 users ?

I have ordered a Fouriers bike mount, and I am hoping I can fit the Edge 1050, and yes I had to spent 40usd on a bike mount for a Edge 1050 which should fit in the same way as the 1040. It'll take 1 week to arrive and will see what happens, else I'd return it and request a refund.

Out of curiosity, what's the distance between the front cover and the center of the Giant mount? I have the same Giant mount but a different handle bar and stem and I'd like to know if I could fit a 1050.

This was mentioned in online reviews, they also said K-Edge is making new mounts for the 1050.

I have a K-edge for the 1040, it's great but so is the price (€80). the 1050 is a high-end computer, there are few cyclists on supermarket bikes who will buy this computer and high-end bikes no longer have many round handlebars, Garmin you have to wake up and look at who is buying what and making sure it's suitable, forcing people to change a medium because you're stubborn is ridiculous. I've had every GArmin since the 810, 1030. 1030+. 1040 I have the impression that I will stop there for the moment :-(

2 new M5 5,5cm imbus bolts and 2 spacers 2,5 and your problem is solved.

Bolts at a local hardware-store and the spacers at my bike-store. :)
