new garmin 1050 won't turn on?

Just got the device in the mail, opened it up and plugged it in to start charging only to find out that it isn't doing anything.... at all? I don't get a charging light, the screen doesn't say it's charging even if it's off? It doesn't boot itself nor is it bootable after simply leaving it plugged in for 15+ minutes.

Hopefully I'm just doing something very stupid and you guys can educate me. I've tried the cable that comes with it, a cable I've tested to charge my phone, multiple power bricks. Hopefully someone can tell me why I'm dumb pretty quickly and save me from thinking I just received a brick in the mail.

    I got mine on Monday and it turned on without any issues. In fact, it had 65% battery. I already did 2 rides for a total of 5 hours and not a single issue so far. Mine was purchased from Cambria Bikes.

    I just got told no stock until early August. Not happy. I was told there was stock available when my return was lodged but since then have sold out and are now out of stock until August.

    Overall a very average experience for a premium device.

    Exactly the same problem.   Very disappointing as wanted to ride the Etape on it / not sure my old Edge 1000 holds the charge long enough…

    FWIW, looks like I got a notification this morning that my replacement device has shipped. Considering that it's been 11 days since I was told 3-5 weeks, at least there's that. I'll let you guys know how the replacement turns out.

    Arrived in the Pyrenees and also my 1050 did not turn on after several rides in Holland.

    The 30 second power down button worked for me after the 3rd try. Battery was 2/3 full.

    Now it turns on normally.

    I also just got a notification this afternoon that mine had shipped, which is 8 days after I sent my one back in and exactly a week since they notified me that they received it. I was also told 4-5 weeks, so I'm hopeful that its problem free when it arrives. I'm just keen to actually have a look at the screen working for the first time. I was able to hook my Varia Radar/camera and front light, power meters and Di3 shifters up to my Garmin Quatix 5 Sapphire watch and have everything working but pushing buttons on the watch isn't ideal when you are hooking along with cars behind you. The radar showed in the side of the watch bezel though, which I was quite surprised about. Bring on the Edge 1050.

    Add another dead unit to the count.  Got my 1050 today and will not power on.  Thankfully I still have my 1040 but this is disappointing.

    I also just received that won't turn on today. Garmin support was great in offering an exchange, but I ended up asking for a refund from the retailer I got it from. Picked one up locally and opened the unit to try before leaving the store.

    The new unit arrived today and it was indeed a new unit with a completely different serial number. It fired straight up and showed 67% battery. Thanks Garmin, much appreciated.
