The new mount does not fit the mount on my Trek Madone or my Trek Emonda. I was using the K-Edge mount and the new position of the computer's mount make is impossible.

The exact bike I used to show that in my 1050 video. (Madone 8 though.... nice bike!)
More to do with mechanical vibration and the center of gravity.
The change of mount position makes this a hard pass for me, I have a 1040 and a load of proprietary out-front mounts, the cost of replacing all the mounts (when/if they become available) would be more…
If your E1030/1040 has a gap of about 10mm between the device housing and the obstacle, then it should be OK. Why Garmin moved the mount forward to move the device back is probably only known to the genius who designed this element and saw the bike in the photo or this was done to call the revised version 1050+.

Yes, especially since the mounting bracket needs to be extended by approx. 10mm, so the arm that carries the weight is also longer. I will make calculations of the forces acting on the elongated frame and what the forces would be if the handle was left in place as it was in E1040. Of course, the E1050 is about 30g heavier than its predecessor and perhaps the calculations showed that moving the center of the mounting by about 9mm forward will result in better weight distribution. However, I don't know if these gains don't make future users feel worse.

Upon speaking to K-Edge customer support, I have the K-Edge Madone Gen 6 and have ordered the Gen 7 version. Will update my findings when I receive it.
I ride a Pinarello F with the MOST out front computer mount, won’t clear the handlebars!!
It seems to have to do with the weight. The older 1030/1040 mount was not entered in the unit, now it is. That said Edges have always came in different sizes with no guaranty it fits older mounts. The 1040 do not fit the smaller 530 mount. The 1050 have a perfectly fine mount in the box. I think you should rather complain to your bike manufacturer that is stupid enough to integrate a mount in their design.

I have the same bike, have you tried it yet to see if the 1050 fits?
So I purchased a headlight that is used only as a riding light(not night light) that attached to the MOST out front mount, then it has a mount on top of the light for a Garmin or Wahoo, Works perfect. Google Ravemen FR300(Lumen)
