Feature request: Re-analyze climbs after an activity

During some rides, I may temporarily deviate from the loaded climb or transition between climbs in a way that causes ClimbPro to miss or drop certain climbs. While the total elevation gain is recorded correctly, those elevation sections are not shown as climbs in Garmin Connect.

It would be very useful if Garmin Connect could offer an option to:

  • Re-analyze an activity against a selected course, or

  • Reprocess climbs post-ride so that missed climbs can be identified and displayed.

This would greatly improve post-ride analysis, especially for rides with complex routes or small detours, and would bring ClimbPro analysis closer to how elevation is already handled.

  • The way ClimbPro is designed, it does not look outside of the navigation path for additional climbs, which is why your deviated climbs are not being recorded as climbs. In order for those to register, you'd need to be riding without navigation (which would enable Free climb detection). If you'd like these two concepts to be combined so that deviated climbs can register while following a course, I recommend submitting that request directly to our developers at garmin.com/ideas.
