Pausing in a workout just after starting - indoor

Hello,

Until 2 weeks ago I was using training plans and activities on my own in the road with the Edge 1040 without problems.

2 days ago I started using the Edge 1040 indoors with an Elite trainer. After the 1040 was turned on it asked if I wanted to update the firmware. I choosen yes and it did the update.

All seemed ok, but since then, whenever I start a workout it changes immediately to pause (red) and I can't unpause it as when I press the "start" button it asks if I want to save or discard.

What do you think is happening?

I also tried to understand where the pausing configuration is, but last time didn't found it (although I need to use more time to find it as it was really a few time).

I opened a ticket in Garmin support last night and I am waiting their answer.

Best regards,

Miguel

  • Hello again.

Solution achieved, although I am not yet in complete control. Using the Indoor activity profile (I changed some data screen fields, but it is not important for what matters) it doesn't pause the activity anymore if I don't press the start/stop button.

Seems the use of GPS indoor makes the activity profile monitoring firmware to "understand" I am not moving, and so moving at a speed below the minimum threshold for not to be in a pause.

What I don't control yet, but I will soon, is where I can change the pausing in the activity profile configuration.

I didn't mention before, but Edge 1040 is in v28.20.

    Regards,

    Miguel
