Edge 1040 does not want to sync my last ride to Garmin connect.

I tried everything.  Reboot, wifi on and off, used usb-sync, delete device from bluetooth and add it again ...  Whatever I trie, my last ride (today) does not want to sync.
It is properly recorded on the device, but I can't sync it to Garmin connect.

Ideas?
Since it is my longest ride yet, this is very frustrating ...

    You can grab the FIT file from the Garmin when connected to a PC in file transfer mode, and manually upload. Do that as a backup first.

    Then I have found 2 things that help a stuck ride, one is to simply start another ride, even just w]stand outdoors for a moment, enough to trigger a distance and start/record/stop then sync.

    The other, on Android Connect is to click through to the device screen, I found sometimes initialising a sync from this page was a “bigger” sync than the default background task. Others will have more suggestions but having the FIT is your ultimate backup/source to upload manually.

    I have a less serious problem. Since approximately 3 weeks ago, rides no longer transfer from 1040 to Android phone (and from there to Strava) automatically when I end the ride. I can still sync the phone and 1040 manually.

    Any suggestions?

    After 1 hour of trying, it finally synced ...

    I did another ride today, but this time it synced instantly.  Very strange ...
