1040 solar charging poorly working

I have a 1040 solar of 1 month old. When I go biking for 3 hours in sunny weather, the solar screen says: 62% avg intensity, time saved: 3:45 (I guess these are minutes) and the battery was drained from 100% down to 35%. Is this normal? I have no battery saving options on and maximum GPS settings. On my first ride it was performing much better?

Am I doing something wrong?

Tnx, Peter

What you are describing in terms of ride time and battery drain sounds like a ride with maximum brightness settings, in addition to maximum GPS settings.

  • Brightness was indeed at 100%. GPS was at maximum. Maybe I touched the brightness settings unintentionally. GPS has always been on maximum. Probably the time saved by solar radiation is also shorter with higher brightness setting. Thanks, I will keep that in mind.
