27.14 Sensor Message Stuck on Repeat

Went on a brief outdoor ride today on 27.14 firmware.

Reached my destination, paused the ride via the button below the screen, ran inside, and when I returned resumed the ride. I then got a message that, "(sensor ID number) will use a (un?)secure connection."

Ok, great. Press the check mark button.

Pops right back up. Repeatedly pressing the check button repeatedly brings the message right back.

This made it difficult to end a ride and get through the pages back to the main screen; check box, and quickly trying to press the next button to advance the pages before the message returned. It eventually quit when I got it back to the main screen, but rendered the screen useless during the ride.

  • i have the same issue... very annoying, my 1040 solar is useless

  • Same issue. The death by repeated warning shows a sensor ID number which does not seem to be listed when I check each sensor. It's so annoying and happens most rides. Been going on for months now.

  • I find its worse if you let the device hibernate without using the power off buttons. This leads always to getting the sensor error message. If you power off, or restart it if you see it wake up rather than power on, then that stops immediate sensor spam. Restarting on each use helps but the sensor unsecure message can still often come up

  • I've worked out the sensor IDs are for TyreWiz pressure sensors that connect via the SRAM AXS app and a Garmin Connect IQ data field app. There must have been a change in Garmin firmware that now forces this error message.
