I was browsing my new Edge 1040 and then I found the Map Manager (which is a new feature in the 1040 compare to the Edge 1030 plus) and it showed that I was able to update to 2025.10 the TopActive Europe 17.9 Gb.
Then I started the update (maybe 1%) but when I saw it will take more than 10 hours I stopped not knowing that I deleted my own map in the process. When going to Navigation a message popped up :
Some navigation features may not work correctly in this area due to missing map coverage.
In short, I was in trouble because I was not able use my map anymore and my only option was to update to 2025.10
First issue, I had no enough free space so I had to delete the img and unl files to get more space.
Second issue, I tried to udpate with Garmin Express with no result. I downloaded the GarminExpressWin7.exe because my computer works under Windows 7 but it failed to install to my surprise
My last option was to udpate with the Map Manager : it took me two days to update the TopActive Europe 17.9 Gb. A real nightmare
