"Always display" courses - Battery consuming?

Hello,

for an upcoming ultra race there are some banned road sections. I plan to have them loaded on my 1040 and always show them in red color, so I don´t accidentally hit this road sections. 

Anyone has experience how ressource hungry this is? It will be like 20 courses of mixed length that will be always on. Unfortunately not that much time left to test it properly, as I just found out about this cool feature.

    I often display courses on my Edge without navigating them.  I don't think it consumes anything beyond what showing the map does as it's more or less static. Of course depending the implementation, it might, but I haven't seen it.

    Thanks. I hope its OK....at least it is a cool feature. Would be even better to have some options for the linestyle
