Edge 840 solar charging

Hi,

My device charges via solar panel only when exercise is running. When i set it to sleep mode or turn off, then it does not charge. Is it OK? Is this how it's supposed to work?

It's probably very similar to how the 1040 works, but you might check on the 840 forum for more pointed feedback.forums.garmin.com/.../edge-840-series
