Garmin IQ Apps Disappear

Running 27.13 and have multiple IQ widgets on 3 different data screens. Frequently after turning on to start a new ride they will just show the IQ icon and I will have to long press and select the IQ app I want in that location.  It happens almost every ride and sometimes even after I start a ride it will again go back to the IQ icon and I'll have to do it again.

  • I've also experienced this issue intermittently over the past year, so I don't believe it's specific to firmware 27.13. Occasionally, a full reboot was needed to restore the Connect IQ field, but other times it was enough to simply reselect the desired data field manually. It seems like a long-standing instability in how IQ fields are loaded at startup.

  • Agreed, this has been going on with me for 6 or so months over various firmware versions.  Before that it never happened so it's certainly something they introduced recently.

  • Yeah, this can be pretty frustrating. What I do when the IQ app crashes is press and hold the field in question, edit the screen display settings, and then add the same IQ option again. After that, the app usually works fine without needing to restart the device.

  • More combinations to make something work as it should without them...

  • Yeah I have to do this every ride now, sometimes twice.

  • Same issue here, has been an ongoing issue EVERY time I start a new ride for 6 months or more. I posted a question but no results.

    Very frustrating and a major inconvenience on group rides.

  • I've had this issue for over a year. In/out of the beta program, across all updates to date. I turn on my edge 1040 solar. I watch my sensors connect, I may or may not calibrate my PM, then I select my road profile which loads to my first screen in that profile showing 10 datafields. 2 of them are IQ (windfield and a compass) All I have to do is wait about 20secs to a minute or two and then suddenly, both IQ fields crash and just show IQ logo. I then turn off the unit, turn it back on and do all above again and never have an issue till the next days ride. This has been going on almost since I go this at launch. 

    We pay so much for these devices and the software support suck so much. it's ridiculous.

  • I face the same issue since I updated to version 27.14. It occurs on every ride and pressing and holding the field in question, edit the screen display settings, and then add the same IQ option again only works sometimes.

    I didn't have this problem with previous versions.

  • Hi well at least you can still use it, after 27.14 update my CIQ completely crashed out... can't install anything so now can't use CIQ.
