When I first got my edge 1040 it would turn off the lights if I paused the ride (play/pause button) and put the device to sleep (short tap of power button). In some release of the firmware this feature has been removed, which is really annoying as now the only way to turn lights off is to stop the ride completely (save/discard). I want to be still be have the light turn off when I stop for a coffee on the way to work or stop at the shops on the way home. This once existed and it is beyond my comprehension as to why it would be removed. Can someone at Garmin please explain the removal of this feature.
